Important information for all our registered professionals : 18 May 2011

We've made some significant changes to the functionality of HealthyPeople for our registered professionals.

First of all, we're offering more.

Even with a basic HealthyPeople registration, you can now filter the type of jobs that we email you about. For example, let's say you're currently working as a Personal Trainer and you'd like to know whenever a PT Manager role or Corporate Health role becomes available. Simply head to the 'Email me' section of your account and select the relevant job categories and hit 'submit'. It's that easy.

Secondly, if we know what sort of roles you're interested in, why not let the employers contact you directly?

We are releasing a new feature for employers that will allow them to view the qualifications, location (suburb only) and experience of candidates within a specific job category - they will not be able to see any identifying information. By default, everyone currently registered with HealthyPeople is set to 'private'. This means that if an employer likes the look of your profile, they can send you an email via the HealthyPeople web site about a job they would like to fill. It is then your choice as to whether you respond.

If you wish to increase the chances of being contacted by an employer with a good career opportunity, head to the 'Email me' section and set the relevant button to the 'public' option. Your details will still not be visible on our site, but employers who have purchased a Business Membership will be emailed your CV directly rather than having to send you the details first and hope you respond. You will be notified whenever your CV has been requested.

Do you wish to block an employer? This is easily done in the 'Search/block/unblock an employer' section.

Do you need to do anything? In many cases, no. Obviously the more up to date your profile is, the better we can assist.

How does this differ from our paid candidate listing service? In short, if you want more opportunities right away, we can send your details directly to managers all over Australia letting them know you're available for work in certain job categories. This is a lot more proactive than hoping you get picked from a list of hundreds!

Finding a career path in the health and fitness industry is not always easy. The only way to ensure that the best opportunities do not pass you by is if you increase the likelihood that those opportunities will be offered directly to you. That's what our recent changes are about; making YOU easier to find when the right opportunity presents itself.

As ever, your feedback and comments are welcome.
